Mary Kate Alexander, TCRG
Mary Kate Alexander, TCRG has been dancing since the wee age of 4. She started with ballet and tap and immediately fell in love with dance and performing. She continued to receive strict Russian Classical Ballet instruction under Nicole Jones until her first Irish dance class at the age of 9. She had found her passion and never looked back. She quickly progressed in her technique and performance when she began taking instruction under Sophia Wyzgowski, TCRG in 2012. In 2014 she began student teaching and embarked on a journey that would lead to becoming a fully certified Irish Dance instructor with the the World Irish Dance Association (W.I.D.A) and the Assistant Director for the Shannon Irish Dance Academy and Performance Company. She received her TCRG after passing the exams in June 2018.
Mary Kate is currently taking classes at Oakland Community College to become a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), while continuing to teach at the academy and tour with the company. She brings her love of Irish Dance and culture to the public when she performs and to the classroom when she teaches. She takes great pride in every one of her students, celebrating their successes and teaching perseverance when they’re faced with frustration or the feeling of defeat. She is a calm presence and a dedicated hard worker that brings so much value to our team.
