Hannah LaMendola

Dance Instructor/Dance Captain

Hannah began dancing with the Shannon Irish Dance Academy when she was 10 years old and has continued with great passion ever since. She is the current 2018 US Open National Champion and is hoping to retain her title at the 2019 US Open Irish Dance Championships in the Fall. As the current Dance Captain of the Shannon Irish Dance Company, she has performed across Michigan sharing her talent with the public at various venues and events. In addition, Hannah performs as a lead dancer in the annual production of An Irish Nutcracker.

Hannah teaches multiple levels of Irish dance within the Academy, ranging from the Wee Ones to Adults. She is known for her patience and ability to break things down for an easier understanding of the complexity of Irish Dance steps. She is dedicated to providing a learning environment that is structured, but lots of fun. Hannah believes determination, patience and most importantly a love for dance are what makes a positive experience in the world of Irish Dance. Her students are highly successful due to her never ending support and nurturing.

Hannah has a great love for Irish dancing and can’t imagine her life without it. She has found her closest friends at Shannon and is very grateful to her dance family for their support. She dedicates as much time as possible to dance while remaining a straight A high school student. While she aims for success in all things, she has learned from her own experiences competing as an Irish dancer, that the best lessons in life come from failure. Achieving resilience in the face of failure, perseverance in the face of adversity is a central part of any ultimate success. Thanks to Irish Dance, with the help of Miss Sophia, her friends and students, Hannah has advanced immensely physically, mentally, and emotionally. Hannah hopes to one day become a certified Irish Dance instructor (TCRG) and quite possibly a judge (ADCRG).
